About Sherry Frontenac

Upon stepping through the doors of Sherry Frontenac, guests are greeted by a comfortable and welcoming air. At once, our hotel is infused with both an undeniable sense of history, as well as a warm feel of contemporary charm.  

Celebrated Florida architect Henry Hohauser first envisioned and designed Sherry Frontenac in 1947 as — in his words — “a post-war multi-million dollar glamour hostelry.” His inspiration was an Art Deco spin on a nautical theme, in reflection of the oceanfront location. The twin towers of the hotel frame the central connection such that (according to a 1949 issue of Florida Architecture magazine) the building evokes “the illusion of two graceful ocean liners, complete with smoke stacks, afloat side by side at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.” The design has proven so timeless that Sherry Frontenac was recognized with an honor from the Miami Design Preservation League.
